 The Encore Condos – Modern Living in the Pearl - 949 NW Overton Street

The Encore Condos is a building that is impossible to miss. It stands 16 stories and 175 feet tall, this allows the views from the condos to be stunning. The Encore has a sleek exterior that is comprised of glass and white brick. The building itself is modern yet fluid with its curved shape and reflective essence. It is a unique structure on the Northern edge of the Pearl District.

The Encore is the newest building in the Pearl district and still has some units for sale that have never been occupied. The condos include ground level live/work spaces, one and two bedroom condos, lofts, townhouses and penthouses. The lofts are in the 700 square foot range and are true lofts with no bedroom walls. The one bedroom units range from 800-1000 square feet and the two bedrooms are in the 1500 square foot range. Townhouses are about 1800 – 2400 square feet and have 2 bedrooms plus a den or 3 bedrooms. The penthouses range from 1700-2500 square feet. The live/work spaces are in the front of the building and range from 1900-2500 square feet. The Encore has a diverse selection of condos in all shapes and sizes.

Recently, we were able to tour the penthouse in the Encore and it does not disappoint. The North views from the penthouse are unobstructed of the Willamette River and Fremont Bridge. It boasts what I believe to be the best view of the Fremont Bridge in all of city of Portland. The West views are beautiful as well with the West Hills. The impressive 12 foot ceilings in this condo make it feel like you are in the sky. The penthouse has a spacious open floor plan with a gourmet kitchen that includes a sub zero wine cooler and Dacor appliances. There are 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, a custom walk in closet, a large outside terrace, 2 parking spots and a Jacuzzi tub.

The Encore is located right next to the Fields, the city’s largest planned park. It is a 3 acre plot adjacent to The Encore and is part of the city park planning that began in 2001. The Fields Park has designated areas for children, dogs and is very bicycle friendly. The unique design of this park makes a statement with the architecture of the Encore building and Willamette River that surround it. 

The Encore has a great location that is truly going to be the next hot spot in the Pearl district. The walk score for the Encore is 89, the bike score is 97 and the transit score is 80. None of this comes as a surprise as the location is right on the Willamette River between NW 9th and 10th on NW Overton Street. It is close to transportation, shops, restaurants, banks and more. The available retail on the ground level of the Encore is also a great opportunity for small businesses in Portland.

Currently there are 3 homes for sale in the Encore ranging from $525,000 up to $534,900 with an average of $558 per square foot.3 condos have sold at the Encore in the last 90 days ranging from $525,000 up to $925,000 with an average of  $558 per square foot. These condos were on the market for on average 103 days and were around 1388 square feet in size.

The Encore embodies what living in a modern condo building is all about. There’s plenty of variety in units, lots of parking, outstanding views, convenient location, on site gym and recreation room and so much more. Imagine waking up every day to these incredible views, being able to go down to the gym in the building for a good workout and taking a stroll through the park for your afternoon latte.
